A Burst of Glitter For Kesha in the Form of a Legal Victory

Kesha has been battling against Dr. Luke to get out of a contract she signed with him at the beginning of her career since late 2014. Thus far, there has been little triumph or avail to the legal proceedings. In fact, Kesha fans have had to bear a brunt as challenging as Kesha’s by not being able to hear any new music from her as a result of the aforementioned binding contract. While Kesha has been doing her best to stay on the radar by singing covers and performing live gigs under the moniker Yeast Infection, there is clearly no substitute for her releasing a long overdue album.

On Wednesday, February 4, however, Supreme Court Justice (that’s right, Kesha’s music involves this level of involvement) Shirley Kornreich dismissed Dr. Luke’s allegations against Kesha’s mother, Pebe Sebert, and manager, Jack Rovner that they intended to extort him if Kesha wasn’t released from her contract.

With this small but significant triumph, fans might just be able to hope for the best on February 19, when an injunction hearing will determine if Kesha is permitted to finally record music without Dr. Luke. If it doesn’t turn out in Kesha’s favor, you know this place about to blow.
